As Christmas approaches it is a time for looking back on what has been and what we might expect of ourselves and others in the year ahead. It is also a time for wishes – for hope that these wishes will come true and for optimism that for all it’s problems God’s world is as good as it gets.

Here are some of my wishes for a better world.

I wish that a Great Leader will take to the world’s stage – never have we needed one more.

I wish that the people of Africa will come good and stop starving for yet another year.

I wish that businesses will prosper through honest hard work and innovation.

I wish that Banks would learn from their past mistakes

I wish for Britain to become Great again

I wish for Europeans to become Great Italians, Germans, French – in other words – be what they are.

I wish for America to rise again and to once more be as good as they can be.

I wish for Zimbabwe anything other than what they have got today.

I wish that you will be optimistic

I wish that you will not be lonely or poor.

I wish that you will have the strength to be great.

I wish you and yours well

Happy Christmas and A Prosperous New Year

The last post described how we came to “obtain” Milo – he has been with us around 6 months now, although it seems like 6 years! No, really (he might be listening) Milo has settled down well, maybe I should say that we have settled down with Milo. His leg seems not to bother him – he can jump his height, indeed twice his height if a biscuit is offered! He sometimes forgets his leg is OK and walks with a sort of sideways posture – quite difficult when you are used to walking in a straight line. As governments worldwide compete with each other to borrow ever greater amounts of our cash, we should all be aware that the very people borrowing the money are the ones who will in a short time be putting up our taxes. What goes up must come down and as the billions of whatever currency you fancy (except the Zimbabwe Dollar, in which case we could say zillions or multi-killions or something equally perverse) are borrowed and printed – we should all be careful and see them as they really are – the new loan sharks.
